Severn Veterinary Centre is a small-animal practice established in 1999, and it’s also listed as a veterinary nurse training facility. Recent reviews describe the clinic fitting in last‑minute appointments when needed, and handling both routine care (boosters, nail clips) and difficult, end‑of‑life decision-making. Specific examples owners mention include keeping a very nervous dog calm during a booster and nail clip (with “Vet Elizabeth”), discussing quality‑of‑life options in detail for a dog with suspected dementia, and providing thoughtful follow-up after euthanasia (a condolence card and forget‑me‑not seeds). The website mentions emergency services, but doesn’t give details on how these are provided.

Severn vets in Alcester are fantastic. They saw my dog at the last minute and were so kind and friendly. The vet was lovely and reassuring. Thank you so much

I took my miniature dachshund in for his booster and nail clip. He is usually super nervous and easily stressed but Vet Elizabeth was brilliant with him! She kept him calm and did everything she needed to. Thank you 🙏🏻

Been using Severn Vets for the last 3 years and always received excellent service. Staff are efficient and compassionate (supported me through my old dog’s euthanasia) and I would highly recommend this practice.

Severn Veterinary Centre needs a reward that recognises who they are, what they do and how they handle and treat animals as the care we got as a family was overwhelmingly awesome as they did everything spot on. We as a family can not fault any of the staff or anything they have done. For this I need to explain how they awesomely helped Deano and us as sadly Deano was very ill. Nothing could cure him or make it more manageable as there is no way of telling by x-rays or scans that Deano had dementia. We joined Severn Veterinary Centre. I sadly can not remember the date due to health reasons. When we first joined, we got a lovely email stating that the animals and owners are treated like family and they was right as the love, compassion, kindness and overall warmth is completely shown by every professional/human beings in the practice. Deano’ behaviour was changing. We got an appointment with the vet. He had to be sedated as he really does not like going to see them as his anxiety completely went up. He was checked. On the first appointment, I joined in via my husbands mobile as I was just out of hospital and I was in plaster from a nasty accident. Deano was put on medication to manage dementia as all his symptoms and behaviour matched this. Sadly, his behaviour changed very quickly as he was snapping at kennel staff as he goes to kennels when we go on holiday. He was snapping at us too. With the vet, his breathing changed. So much that we never heard him breathe in that way. We discussed everything fully with the vet as she told us that sadly his dementia will get a whole lot worse and the medication will probably not work and she was so thorough that I totally respect her for her profession as she did the veterinary practice proud. We with the vet made the decision to let Deano rest in an eternal rest. That meant putting our baby to sleep. I mentioned the breathing he did that we never heard before. He did this when the vet got the medication and paperwork together. The vet returned with a veterinary nurse and she came in with a blanket. This was put on the floor where they got Deano on. The meds was administered, only the first half as when Deano went to lie down, the vet gently took off his muzzle to be comfortable. She then put the second half in and in a few minutes he was quiet. She listened to Deano’ heart and politely informed us that Deano was gone, in his eternal sleep. The vet and nurse politely stepped back so that we could say goodbye. In fact, they left the room. I could see some tears on the vets face. She had every right to cry as well as this was a very hard thing to do. Yes, vets save lives, but they have to put them asleep as well and it impacts on them as well as the owners. The vet and nurse was outstanding and overall professional that it blew our minds as we can not express how kind they was to us and Deano. The love, care and compassion was awesome, and overall amazing, nothing short of brilliant. The reception staff has been overall amazing and kind as the love care and compassion was awesome and brilliant. The card sent with forget me not seeds was absolutely gorgeous as the words was so touching and brilliant that I cried happy tears. Overall, Severn Veterinary Vets needs recognising as they truly deserve an award for everything they do as they go way over their port of call. I will say is please, the partner/owner of Severn Veterinary Centre to please read my feedback as your staff are 100% a real credit to you and your Veterinary Centre. We as pet owners are very proud to be part of something very special and we are proud that our other pets come to your practice. Deano passed away in the arms of my husband in the best environment with the best incredible staff. Severn Veterinary Centre staff, YOU ALL ARE INCREDIBLELY AMAZING. Thank you for taking care of Deano and giving him the dignity he deserved.
