Hopwood Veterinary Centre

Seems to be business first , pets welfare secondary . The closing time on a Saturday is 12 :30 pm I rang at around 11:30 , my first question was you have not brought your cat here for two years , have you taken him somewhere else ???? My cat has been perfectly well thankyou so there was no need to bring him !!! What’s wrong with your cat ? He’s under the weather , I have de wormed him , he’s been very lethargic for a couple of days and he’s off his food, he hasn’t been sick or had diahrea . Ok you can bring him in now but it’s now out of hours so you will have to pay out of hours fees . I thought it’s still before 12 and you close at 12:30 but ok , I’m worried about my cat . The vet checked him over , said he had a temperature , a bit of conjunctivitis but because of his temp his organs can shut down , he could have bloods taken , scans and was looking at me like it was life or death . I told him that he needs antibiotics and I’ll see how he goes , he then offered a medicine that could be risky for his liver , I said no , just antibiotics , he proceeded to give anti biotic and another anti sickness and diarrhoea Medication even though he wasn’t being sick or pooping . I went in on the following Monday just to see if I could get the conjunctivitis drops that the vet had asked if I would be able to give him but I’d declined . The frosty nature of the staff was rediculous , one woman said it’s not on the notes , I said ask the vet , they told me he’s in today but he’s not working ??? A 20 second conversation would have answered this !!! Then another member of staff told me they would have to ask another vet and ring me later , they can’t just magic it out of thin air ???? Wow !!! They didn’t ring me later ! I took him to another vets two days later and he was prescribed with ear drops because of the ear infection he had . No organs going to give up on him , no bloods or scans which would cost a fortune , I was told the reaction to the De wormer was mild as Bob martins dewormer has barely anything in it . Now he’s right as rain . Hopwood just after as much as they can fleece from you !! Townsend vets Bromsgrove / Rubery are pets health first , customer service first! Goodbye hopwood !!!!!!!

Been using Hopwood vets for nearly 6 years now for my boy Charlie -Boris. They’ve always been brilliant with him, from reception staff to the vet . Will always recommend them to anyone .

I cannot thank everyone at Hopwood Veterinary Centre enough for the care, kindness, and compassion they showed when we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Poppy. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional, gentle, patient, and truly understanding of how heartbreaking the situation was. They treated Poppy with dignity and love, and they treated us with genuine empathy and respect, giving us the time and space we needed without ever feeling rushed. Their compassion made one of the hardest moments of our lives a little more bearable, and for that we will always be grateful. Hopwood Veterinary Centre went above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Poppy and for supporting us with such kindness during such a difficult time. 💔🐾

Discriminatory! Reception staff are unsympathetic and rude. They have no understanding of speaking with disabled customers. It was all apparently my fault that they had no knowledge or any information on how to speak calm and politely to customers, their excuse being they no training on disabilities, so can't be generally polite. When I then requested that a vet who wasn't treating my pet should not approach me or greet/touch my pets in the reception area (due to him insulting me and causing significant anxiety) - this was not accepted as they think disrespecting mine and my assistance dogs space is acceptable. They gave me 2 week notice to leave, despite having pet plans they claim they can't cancel for 8 months! Quite glad to be leaving though to be honest as the reception staff have been rude to me on a number of occasions!
